Summit Technical Solutions’ Supports Transitioning Veterans

As a Veteran Owned small business, Summit Technical Solutions, LLC (STS) leadership is actively committed to employment of Veterans, whom we regard as among our Nation’s greatest resources. Today, you will find many Veterans at every level of our organization continuing in their service to our country by supporting STS government contracts and customers. Our active commitment is demonstrated through our veteran employment rates: 76% of STS employees in Colorado Springs are veterans, and company-wide 50% of STS employees are veterans.

As part of our commitment to continue promoting career opportunities for Veterans internally and in our community, our team regularly volunteers to attend events like the Hiring Our Heroes mock interviews. Pictured is Kelly Terrien, STS President and CEO, joined by Regina Hendricks, Director of Business Operations, who recently volunteered at one such event at the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center. This veteran focused mock interview helps transitioning military personnel practice their interviewing skills and receive open and honest feedback from community partners like STS.

Military personnel have a plethora of knowledge and earn worlds or experience while in service, but some service members have only known the military life, and may need assistance with learning how to portray their skills best for a civilian interview setting. Veterans in varying stages of transition attend these events each month to receive valuable feedback from several professionals in a variety of industries.

HR Connect and Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center orchestrate multiple mock interview or community networking events each month. In addition to mock interviews, Mt. Carmel is a service center that engages with the transitioning veterans providing support from peer counseling and resume formatting, to job hunt assistance and professional clothing drives, and so much more. Each organization offers a multitude of services that guide these veterans through the transitioning process. Thanks to their efforts, Mt. Carmel has had a positive impact for veterans in the Colorado Springs community.
