PRIDE 2015 event Sponsorship and Volunteer Support
On July 20th, Summit Technical Solutions sponsored Colorado Springs PRIDE 2015 for the first time ever. The event, which takes place in downtown Colorado Springs, displays an environment of equality and tolerance, and represents many values STS holds close; Everyone should be treated with respect, trust, and dignity.
6 volunteers from the Headquarters office, joined by friends and family, participated in PRIDE by walking in the traditional PRIDE parade, a one mile walk accompanied by more than 50 local organizations, businesses, and LGBTQ organizations. Local groups such as the Queer Initiative participated, as well as businesses like Progressive, and organizations such as InsideOut Youth Services. InsideOut supports the LGBTQ youth offering education for friends and family, guidance, support, and educational assistance both through high school and college.
The HQ Volunteers, seen above, enjoyed supporting the event, interacting with community members who joined the celebration and parade, and giving back through the PRIDE organization.
STS, as a sponsor, gave away skittles, temporary tattoos, water, and other candy to the families and children who came to watch the parade. At the end of the parade line, all members of the community were asked to join the Parade for the People, intended to gather additional support for PRIDE, encouraging those families to join the festivities that took place at the end of the parade route.
The remainder of the event was hosted at the America the Beautiful Park. After walking in the parade, the HQ employees, Ashley S., Tyler B., Charles W., Jaime G., and Miriam H. volunteered for PRIDE supporting the event that weekend. STS sponsored the information booth which shared information about the PRIDE event, it’s history, and information the local non-profit organizations dedicated to the acceptance and tolerance of all community members regardless of their gender, preferences, or identity.
This first year participating in Colorado Springs PRIDE was a success for STS, and all volunteers were proud to get involved in the community. Many expressed excitement to walk and volunteer in 2016.
STS is grateful for the ability to participate and support local organizations that do such positive things for others, and that create an environment of tolerance, respect, and dignity for everyone.
Our shared values are the compass for our actions and describe how we behave in the world:
Commitment to Excellence
Commitment to Being Customer-Centric
