Summit Technical Solutions - Where we Live and Work
Colorado Springs, CO

Summit Technical Solutions is headquartered in colorful Colorado Springs; vibrant with beautiful hiking trails, a historic downtown, and home to the U.S. Olympic Training Center, Colorado Spring is the “Olympic City USA”. Colorado is also home to six unique military bases, and Colorado Springs is home to the highest concentration of veterans who make up 18.4% of our population.

 

Just ‘15 minutes from everything’, downtown Colorado Springs has many exceptional restaurants, many of them featuring menus with locally grown ingredients. Visitors often enjoy the local shops, staying cool in the beloved Uncle Wilber Fountain in the summer, and taking the family ice-skating in the park every winter.

 

A stone’s throw away; historic Manitou Springs offers an eclectic culture, and focus on small businesses. Take the Cog Railway up to the Pikes Peak Summit for a unique experience at 14,000 feet, year-round. Colorado Springs has many celebrations throughout the year some including, a Chili Cook Off and PRIDEfest in the summer; and celebrations for Fireman, Veterans, and a Parade of Lights during the winter.

 

Colorado is well known for our many beautiful landscapes and trails, and Colorado Springs home to a few of the best! One of the most iconic venues is Garden of the Gods, located on the west side of Colorado Springs, a gorgeous lush park home to many different red rock formations, including the famous kissing camels. There are many trails weaved throughout the park for biking and light hiking. If you look closely, you can even spot a rock climber or two on the red formations!

Providing Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment services to Space Force at Cavalier Space Force Station, STS assists with the continuous requirements to operate and maintain the world’s most capable phased-array radar system; the PARCS Radar. Cavalier, North Dakota is a historically rich town, abundant with traditions and a community that is growing every day.

 

Nearby, there are multitudes of activities to enjoy; Cavalier has a small-town culture that promotes relationships with your fellow neighbors, and gives residents a sense of security. The blend of history and tradition, paired with an overall friendly environment earns Cavalier the designation of “The Friendly City.” Throughout the year, you can enjoy many activities such as music festivals, holiday parades, community building gatherings and more. The Shreveport-Bossier City Area, otherwise known as Louisiana’s Other Side, is filled with adventure, culture, music, and more! Supporting HQ AF Global Strike Command (AFGSC), Summit Technical Solutions’ subject matter experts provide essential professional support services including planning, system integration, verification and validation, and effectiveness analysis to Global Strike Command.

 

The Shreveport area is rich with musical heritage, and has a growing film industry inviting many well-known actors and industry members, as well as annual film and art festivals such as the Mudbug Madness Festival and Let The Good Times Roll festivals during the spring and summer, and the fall’s Red River Revel Arts Festival, the region’s largest!

 

Shreveport averages one snowy day a year, celebrates Mardi Gras as well as New Orleans, and is home to the Outlets at Louisiana Boardwalk, the largest shopping, dining, and entertainment complex in the state. Shreveport-Bossier has more than two dozen museums, including the Sci-Port Discovery Center.

Arlington, VA

Arlington, VA is the second largest principal city in the Washington metro area. Beautifully weaved with natural parks and an abundance of wildlife and forestry areas, there is a strong emphasis to protect and maintain all of nature’s wonders. Arlington is very diverse in population and meeting and befriending people from all walks of life. There is a strong military history in Arlington; it’s an ideal place for military personnel! Arlington throws a summer long Military pageant featuring soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Regiment and music from the United States Army Band. It’s a great way to learn about the history of the beautiful state of Virginia! Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon are common tourist venues where you can stroll and take in the history and grandeur of the state.

 

Only minutes away from Arlington is the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., featuring historic buildings and monuments. Common attractions include the library of congress, as well as the US Capitol Building. In addition to all the historic monuments, there are plenty of recreational activities to do, including a walk in the Rock Creek Park! Work out, take a stroll, or even visit the planetarium if you are a space lover like we are!

 

Both Arlington and District of Columbia share the Capital Bikeshare, which is a program making bikes accessible to local residents!

Norfolk, VA

In Norfolk, Virginia, Summit Technical Solutions performs test & training, and operations & maintenance support for the Naval Air Systems Command. We provide precision in maintenance and transport of seaborne targets, support equipment and boats, missile testing and repair. Because Norfolk is right on the water there is an abundance of water-based activities, such as boating, water skiing, and swimming. Sailing is a big activity in the area, and you can even visit the Nauticus Sailing Center to learn how to sail, take part in racing, or just socialize with the community!

 

Downtown Norfolk is a mermaid paradise with several art installations, known as the Mermaid Parade, where visitors can marvel at the mermaids on display! In Norfolk, visitors can experience the beauty and vastness that is Chesapeake Bay. Nearby is a beach where local can participate in community events, or even kayaking and paddle boarding. Inland, there are plenty of parks to wander through, and Norfolk even has 12 designated dog parks so furry friends can enjoy the outdoors, too.  Traveling around town is easy with the Tide Light Rail that spans from downtown all the way to Virginia Beach.

 

Norfolk is big into Art and not just the traditional arts but even so performing arts. Norfolk’s art festival celebrates the whole spectrum of the art world from paintings to famous military music. Virginia Zoo and Botanical Gardens help put in perspective where Norfolk is in their efforts of conservation and going green throughout their community.

Huntsville, AL

The Rocket City is home of many space and rocket innovations and historical wonders. STS provides Information Technology and Cybersecurity services for USASMDC/ARSTRAT in Huntsville, AL, including integrated IT solutions and support services.

 

The largest space museum in the world resides in Huntsville; the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Here, you can learn about Huntsville’s role in Space travel, such as the development of the rocket that propelled us to the moon. In addition to the space museum, The U.S Space Camp Training Center is also located in Huntsville, where five graduates have gone on to be astronauts. Fun fact: They were all women!

 

Huntsville is a blend of art and science with its SPACES Sculpture trail that adds culture, color, and inspiration all around town. There are 39 perfectly engineered sculptures that can be explored conveniently through GPS and SPACES HSV mobile app. This makes for a great intersection of engineering and art, and a fun STEM activity for the whole family.

 

Aside from the robust space scene in Huntsville, there are plenty of opportunities to maintain an active lifestyle, like at the Big Spring International Park. The park houses many festivals and numerous concerts year round. The park is home to various wildlife, making this a fun destination for the whole family. Why can't I send my resume directly to you or a Hiring Manager?

As a federal contractor, we require all candidates to complete our online application so that we can ensure compliance with our employment practices. If special accommodations are needed during the application process due to a disability, please contact STS Human Resources.

I submitted my resume but I haven't heard from STS yet. What's the status of my application?

We often receive large numbers of applications for our open positions here. We always follow Federal requirements when we review the resumes sent to us by candidates and contact the people we’d like to learn more about. Unfortunately, we’re not able to make personal contact with people we are not moving forward with in the selection process.

How long will the application process take?

For current openings, our average time from position opening to position closing is 4-6 weeks, but some positions may take longer to find the right fit. If the position is open in anticipation of a contract award, it may take significantly longer, depending on award date and result.

When I submit my resume on your website, where does it go?

You will receive an immediate email response from STS acknowledging receipt of your application as soon as it is submitted. After a resume submission, your information is automatically stored in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Once it is in the ATS, a Human Resources team member and/or a Hiring team member will review it.
