07 May 2015 – STEM Students Discuss 31st Annual Space Symposium
In April, STS had the opportunity to host 30 students from the Vanguard School as they toured the exhibit floor at the 31st Annual Space Symposium. More details and pictures can be found here.
“During my trip to the space symposium at the Broadmoor, I learned many new things and have become very enlightened on the subject of outer space exploration and studies. This was an informational, fun, and riveting journey regarding something that I had not yet studied: space in terms of current technology and exploration. This trip was very educationally enriching and showed me the importance of space within our modern world. I cannot thank STS enough for giving me this great opportunity to expand my knowledge and to explore the mysteries and wonders of space and technology.”
-Grant Hughes, Vanguard Sophomore
“Visiting the Space Symposium was a wonderful opportunity for my peers and me to talk to the experts in the space industry. Especially since I am looking into a career in it, I really enjoyed hearing about all the different jobs available from rocket-building and satellite programming to the medical science involving astronauts. Thank you STS for sponsoring such an amazing opportunity.”
-Aidan Mullaney, Vanguard Junior, Member of Rocketry Team
“I was one of the students from The Vanguard School who had the pleasure of attending the 2015 Space Symposium at The Broadmoor. It was a truly amazing experience. I thoroughly enjoy science and space and being able to see the new technology that is being developed was truly amazing! As an aspiring Mechanical Engineer, my attention was especially drawn to the XCOR Aerospace shuttle. The fact that such a shuttle exists and is available to civilians was one of the many things I learned about on this trip. I greatly appreciate STS for allowing me and my classmates to do this, and I hope that other classes may get to experience the same thing in the future.”
-Joshua Leasure, Vanguard Student
“The Space Symposium was a very enjoyable event, especially considering that there was no fee to go. I deeply appreciate STS sponsoring me and everyone else who went. There were many things to learn at the Space Symposium, I never knew that so many people and companies were involved with space. Once again, thank you, STS.”
-Jonah Davis, Vanguard Freshman
